More Than a Motif

Warli is more than a distinctive visual style. It is a way of telling stories — of people, nature, celebration and everyday life.

Originating in Maharashtra, Warli art uses simple geometric forms to express something deeply human: communities gathering, people dancing, animals moving through the landscape, and life unfolding around nature.

At LILAK, we reinterpret this visual language through a contemporary lens — preserving its rhythm and character while creating pieces made for everyday wear.

  • 01 — People

At the heart of Warli art are people — gathering, working, dancing and celebrating together. Simple geometric forms become a powerful expression of community and life.

  • 02 — Nature

Trees, animals, birds, rivers and the changing landscape surround the human story. Nature isn't a backdrop in Warli art — it is part of the story itself.

  • 03 — Celebration

The famous Tarpa dance captures the spirit of togetherness, with figures moving in rhythm around a central musician — a symbol of community, celebration and continuity.

These are the stories we brought into the Warli Edit.
